Adele

Adkins was brought up by a single young mother in different working-class areas of London. When she was a kid she was fond of singing contemporary pop songs and also learning to play the guitar as well as the clarinet. She came across Etta an early-mid-century rhythm-and- blues singer, in her teens and began to explore a career as an artist. She was enrolled in an elementary school for visual and performing arts, which was funded by the federal government. A friend posted songs Adkins composed on Myspace. Adkins was soon noticed by record companies and signed to a deal with XL Recordings in 2006.
